Exoplanets

This website contains information about exoplanets.

ABSTRACT

This is a recerch Project about exoplanets. It has inetresting information about exoplanets and a little explication about them, It also has an application with cacluations of exoplantes formulas games and quiz. In addition, it has website with and image map where are the habitable exoplanets in a hemisphere nord and soud. With information of each planet about his ESI name and the star that it orbites from and if the planet have big ESI is Green and if smaller is red.We also did graphics with weka, a verey interesting graphics becouse have things that you probably can know if you do a resarch but not in avisual form like a graphic that why are very important, and we did with weka a very powerful tool.

Introduction

An exoplanet is a planet which take place out of our solar system. The exoplanets are pretty new for our society because the first one was discovered 1995. There are a lot of types of forms to distribute the exoplanets. By his size, superterran (bigger than earth), terran (more or less like earth), and subterran (smaller tan earth). Also you can distribute by non-habitable and habitable. Inside the habitable class we have four more classes psychroplanet( It’s like Mars and have a temperature between -50 and 0 degree ), thermoplanet (habitable planet which has a temperature between 50 and 100 degeers), and messoplanet (planet with a size between Mercury and Ceres they have a temperature between 0 and 50 degrees ) hipopsychroplanet (the planets that are smaller than Mercury and have a temperature between -50 and 0 degrees). Also there are many types of methods to discover exoplanets. The first one that was used was the radial velocity. But now the methods used are more sophisticated although the previous ones continue to serve. Now what they do is put the special satellites thrown by the NASA that serve as a telescope and we are bothered by the atmosphere and can get much clearer results.

Objectives

1) Analyse available data from near 4000 confirmed exoplanet and finding important parameters for habitability by creating graphs in weka. 2) Analyse weka graphics to identify if an exoplanet is habitable or not habitable by presenting accuracies related data. 3) Image map with title on mouse over about ESI, terran/subterran/superterran world, light years distance and constellation of the 40 most habitable exoplanets find in Puerto Rico. Colors are green to the highest ESI values and red for the lowest. 4) Create an application that contains an introduction, a quiz, an explanatory video and a game. 6) Introduce mathematical calculus formulas from exoplanets in the application.
